Looking to make apps that get in front of more of the right people? Want to get the most out of your apps? You came to the right place!
My name, in case you missed it, is Doug Watkins, and I don’t know about you, but taking the time and effort to develop a mobile app to have it just sit there and get 5 downloads a day, well, it just sucks! If you have ever wondered what you need to do to get your apps in front of your target audience – or if you don’t know who your target audience is. If you want to know what you can do to get apps to make money for you in the app store, then you are in the right place!
I am working hard now to find out exactly what gets an app to get in front of the right people, so that it can be downloaded and used by the people who want your app, and will come back again and again. I am taking the risks you don’t want to take to see what works, and what doesn’t.
Why waste your time, money, and effort when I can be the one wasting time on what doesn’t work? I’ll make the mistakes so that you don’t have to!
I’m researching and experimenting RIGHT NOW and recording my results on my own apps. I am, and will be, posting my results along with actionable steps YOU can take to follow my examples. I want to help you succeed, and not just because it will mean I have succeeded, but I genuinely want to leave this world in a better condition than I found it in. That means helping as many people as I can to make awesome apps that get awesome results.
I am a developer. I currently develop this website, as well as iOS apps – Android is in the works. I work for myself from home, and love making mobile apps and spending time with my family. I love to kill virtual terrorists with my brother – COD and Borderlands are preferred games. I’ve wanted to make games since I was 12, and have been programming since I was 14.
I totally love to code, but realized in college that the game industry didn’t offer the family life I wanted. So I switched majors. Got married. And finally realized what I want to do with my life during my last semester – just a few months before my first child was born. I haven’t looked back since. Now that I have multiple apps in the store, apps that I have received several emails from people thanking me for making these apps, I need to learn what it takes to get my apps in front of people, because 3 people a day is just not cutting it.
So I started my journey to learn internet marketing, social media marketing, and app store optimization. I have just recently finished my first round of ASO, and am waiting for Apple to approve my changes, but while I wait I am busting my hump learning and practicing my marketing skills. I’ll wait to see what straight ASO does for my apps before pushing my apps out there more – I can try to keep my experiments as scientific as possible so I can create action steps for you to follow and know exactly how much impact it makes.
All of my apps will be available to see and download from within this website, as well as other content that I will post relevant to either my apps, my personal progression, or my code monkey progression. Maybe something I think is really cool will also show up, but who knows these kinds of things? I sure don’t, yet. I can’t see the future, but I can tell you that there will be updates here, and I think you may find these interesting – possibly even important depending on … reasons. So pull up your chair, sit back and just enjoy what I have to say.
